The Art of Self-Organisation: A Christmas Greeting from foryouandyourcustomers
Since the founding of foryouandyourcustomers, the Christmas Edition has been a cherished tradition: every year, clients, partners, and friends receive an art gift — a unique piece from a specially created series. This gift is an expression of our capacity for building relationships, one of the company’s core values.
Wolfgang Ganter and Self-Organization
For the 2025 edition, Wolfgang Ganter (*1978, Stuttgart; lives in Brandenburg an der Havel and Berlin) was invited to create a new series of works. Ganter, who had already impressed audiences in 2021 at foryouandyourcustomers in Munich with his alchemical pieces situated between photography and biology (see the 37th exhibition), explores in his series Self Organizing Painting the relationship between autonomous material reaction and artistic intention.
In this process, the artist brings pigments, chemicals, and time into dialogue: he drops several liquids onto the wooden surface, and chemistry does the rest. The substances react, intertwine, grow, and transform. Although chemistry on a microscopic level is well understood—the movements of atoms, repulsion and attraction, and the dynamics of molecules are known—the outcome remains unpredictable to us humans. Self Organizing Painting reveals a new, distinct, and— for many—unexpected quality, impact, and beauty.
Self-Organization as a Corporate Philosophy
This process of self-organization reflects an essential aspect of foryouandyourcustomers. Since its founding, the company group has evolved through a multitude of small cells that act relatively independently while following clear and simple rules.
These cells deliver the services customers need and adapt according to market demands. There is no central control or management; instead, the interconnected cells autonomously organize the necessary capabilities and services.
Much like in Ganter’s artwork—where each individual step is logical even though the overall result may seem unpredictable—the same applies to foryouandyourcustomers: the company evolves on its own, with each step thoughtfully considered and well decided. This decentralized, rule-based self-organization generates a new, distinct, and—for many—unexpected quality, impact, and beauty.
