In the 91st exhibition, we encounter Petra Schott’s paintings as a space for feeling, thinking, and searching. Her works emerge from the interplay of colour, movement, and intuition. Nature and femininity appear not as motifs, but as atmospheric forces. With a language of layers, traces, and open forms, Schott draws on traditions of abstract expressionism. We look forward to welcoming you and engaging in lively conversations in front of the artworks.
In her artistic practice, Petra Schott moves between intuition and reflection, between physical gesture and inner space.
Through dense layers of colour, open forms, and searching lines, she explores themes such as nature, femininity, and emotional states – far from any clarity, close to perception.
Inspired by abstract expressionism and artists such as Cy Twombly, Joan Mitchell, and Martha Jungwirth, Petra Schott creates an independent visual language that is both sensual and intellectual. Her often poetically provocative titles expand the visual into the conceptual without defining it.
After studying law and fine arts, Petra Schott has dedicated herself exclusively to painting since 2014. Her works are regularly exhibited in Germany and internationally.
