The 100th exhibition at foryouandyourcustomers marks a singular moment in our engagement with contemporary art, presenting a duo-show with Anita Witek and Tina Lechner in Vienna. An artistic collaboration between the two forms the conceptual nucleus of the exhibition, which further encompasses new works and immersive installations, tracing the intersections between their distinct yet deeply resonant practices.
COMMON GROUND: Anita Witek and Tina Lechner
The 100th exhibition at foryouandyourcustomers presents works by Anita Witek and Tina Lechner, both of whom consider photography their home base. Images as carriers of memory and the histories of art remain constant points of reference. Where Witek takes a deconstructive approach — collecting, dismantling and reassembling visual material, often site-specifically, allowing her photo collages to migrate into textile objects — Lechner develops her motifs with the sensibility of a sculptor: she constructs elaborate, sculpture-like objects for her models to inhabit, photographs them, and throughout this process carefully protects the identity of her protagonists.
In 2024 the two entered into an artistic collaboration, for which Anita Witek stepped in front of Tina Lechner's camera together with her textile works. The exhibition offers new insight into the practice of both artists, illuminates the synergies of their creative exchange, and explores the spatial dimensions into which photography can reach.
