Postponement of the opening of foryouandyourcustomers in St Pölten and vernissage of the 39th exhibition with works by Tina Lechner
The opening ceremony of foryouandyourcustomers at our latest location in St Pölten, as well as the vernissage with works by Tina Lechner, has been postponed due to the COVID19 pandemic. We would like to invite you again for a personal exchange surrounded by art, once we have survived this challenging time.
In her work, Tina Lechner (born 1981 in St Pölten, lives and works in Vienna) draws on historical photography in many ways. She works exclusively analog and creates a setting in the studio for her models. The female figure, mostly depicted from behind, is overlaid by bodies and surfaces made of paper, cardboard or fabric. Transitions between man and thing, material and skin, become increasingly invisible. The breaking down into or contacting of the human physiognomy with minimal forms enters into a dialogue with Bauhaus photography and New Objectivity. The handicraft aspect, building with props and photographing them with an analogue camera are decisive in the working process, which the artist herself describes: “With simple means I design a sculptural language of forms, which is nourished by abstraction and geometry, in order to then connect it with the physiognomy of body language”.
